A List Of Indian Media Lies - Dishonesty of Indian Media

By Sikander Hayat

A very well coordinated, well planned, dishonest, deceitful and meticulously venomous campaign is being waged against Pakistan at the movement by the Indian media and its politician who are trying to out do each other in spewing hatred against Pakistan, its governments, its institutions and worst of all; its entire people.
There is red mist descending on Indian media houses ( who are making money in the form of increased advertising revenues by increasing their viewership and who have an interest in keeping this untruthful saga going by as many untruthful accounts as they could). The role of media in this whole saga is beyond description, typical Indian incompetence and lazy reporting by not researching the facts before making them headline news is the biggest journalistic crime being committed at the movement.
Never before anything like this has been witnessed and it seems the only beneficiary is the ideology of hate. Hundreds of Indian news channels are reporting thousands of contradictory accounts by one man (the captured terrorist). From the time, it was revealed that one of the terrorists has been captured, every hour a different story has emerged.
Another fact which tells us that this is all set up to entrap Pakistan is this that there was a complete intelligence failure on part of the Indian authorities before the attack happened and apparently nobody in the Indian security intelligence knew what was happening but as soon as the attack began there was total intelligence ( Even when the Indians had not captured anyone) they knew, while the fire fight was still going on, the names of the people, how they got to Mumbai, who was there controller ( a guy called Rehman has been mentioned) , the route they took to get there. You name it and Indian Intelligence services had that information and that is when the fight was still going on.
Here is the list of lies reported by Indian media, which were made the headline news on most of the International media without any checks. Most of these have already been found to be untrue and rest will become very clear very soon.

• There were British Pakistanis involved in the attack. (This story readily picked up by the British press and it harmed the already fragile community relations in UK). Turned out to be an untruthful account by the blood thirsty and incompetent Indian media.

• Indian authorities said that all 10 of the terrorists who attacked the city of Mumbai last Wednesday were from Pakistan.

• The [Anti-Terror Squad] officer also disputed Indian press assertions that the attackers were Pakistani, saying they were of many nationalities.

• After the [terrorists'] training was over, they were sent to Mumbai for a "short internship," [Azam Amir] Kasab is believed to have told the cops. This was the period when the accused did the [reconnaissance] of the city and even went to the five star hotels (Taj and Oberoi), the sources said.
—Times of India, Dec. 1, 2008

• Investigators are probing whether the information came by way of local help, or whether a separate team of militants carried out a reconnaissance mission from abroad to the financial centre on India's west coast to scope out targets and prepare the attacks.
—Wall Street Journal, Dec. 2, 2008

• Elite Indian commandos spoke of fierce battles through the maze of corridors and 565 rooms of the 105-year-old Taj Mahal hotel in which the terrorists had a better knowledge of the building's layout than security forces.
—Financial Times, Nov. 28, 2008

• "I do not think they knew the hotel inside out," [said City Police Commissioner Hassan Gafoor].
—Washington Post, Dec. 3, 2008

• Azam Amir Kasab, 21, a Pakistani national, claimed the terror strikes, which left nearly 200 dead, were intended to kill as many as 5,000 people and that he and his fellow militants were ordered to target whites—especially Britons and Americans. The claims were made in what a police source said was a transcript of his questioning.
• —The Times of London, Dec. 1, 2008

• Police believe attacks at the Leopold cafe, popular with tourists, and at CST station, may have been diversions to provide cover as other gang members stormed their two main targets—Mumbai's two luxury hotels, the Taj Mahal and Trident-Oberoi.
—The Age (Melbourne) Dec. 1, 2008

• "It seemed like they were in a hurry," [Leopold Café owner Farhang Jehani] said. "It was as if they wanted to shoot as many people as they could even though this was not their main target. Their motive might have been to divert the police, who have a station across the street, to keep them occupied as they headed to the Taj hotel."
—Washington Post, Dec. 1, 2008

• [Captured terrorist] Kasab has allegedly revealed that their plan was to take hostages at the Taj hotel, Oberoi Hotel and Nariman House and then use them to escape from the city, [a senior police official] added.
—Press Trust of India, Nov. 29, 2008

• The sole Mumbai gunman captured alive has told police he was trained in Pakistan and ordered to "kill until the last breath," according to a leaked account of his interrogation.
The Times of London, Dec. 1, 2008

• [The terrorists] also intended to escape Mumbai after the attacks, but officials say it might have been a formality. One Indian official said that he believes the terrorists knew well in advance that they were on a one-way mission.
—ABCNews.com, Dec. 1, 2008

• The terrorists thought they would come out alive and had an escape route, added [gunman] Kasav.
—Daily Mail, Dec. 1, 2008

• "Their plan was just to cause maximum damage and return with hostages protecting themselves," [said Mumbai Police Joint Commissioner for Crime Rakesh Maria]
—The Times, Dec. 2, 2008

• Another GPS unit recovered in Mumbai suggested that the terrorists planned to return to the [hijacked fishing] vessel if they survived the attacks, [Rakesh] Maria said."
—Wall Street Journal, Dec. 2, 2008

• [T]he militants carried bundles of Indian rupees, packets of raisins and nuts to keep their energy high. …
—Wall Street Journal, Dec. 2, 2008

• Officials said drug paraphernalia, including syringes, was recovered from the scene of the attacks, which killed almost 200 people. ...
• "We found injections containing traces of cocaine and LSD left behind by the terrorists and later found drugs in their blood," said one official.
• "There was also evidence of steroids, which isn't uncommon in terrorists."
—Daily Telegraph, Dec. 2, 2008

• An officer of the Anti-Terror Squad branch in Mumbai, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the news media, said [Kasab] had given inconsistent answers to questioning, sometimes saying there were 10 attackers, sometimes more than 10.
—New York Times, Dec. 1, 2008

• Only 10 militants have been identified, but, according to a private TV channel, Azam Amir Qasab apparently confirmed there were 15 attackers.
—BBC.com, Dec. 1, 2008

• Most of what Mr. [Azam Amir] Kasab has said so far has proven accurate, [Rakesh Maria] said in the interview.
—Wall Street Journal, Dec. 2, 2008

• The government has not allowed outside access to the captive, who is said to have identified himself as Ajmal Amir Qasab, a Pakistani citizen who was wounded in the leg and was being treated at a military hospital.
—New York Times, Dec. 1, 2008

• The terrorist [Kasab] was taken to the hospital after he was hit in the hand by a bullet in the early stages of the assault on Mumbai last week.
—The Australian, Dec. 2, 2008

• "[Kasab] had some aberrations and bruises on his upper and lower limbs. He did not have any bullet injury and did not require surgery. He was given treatment on the spot and there has been no active treatment on him after that," said Ravi Ranade, dean of B Y L Nair hospital.
—IndianExpress.com, Dec. 2, 2008

• After being captured, Kasab was taken ... to Nair hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. He reportedly told medical staff: "I do not want to die. Please put me on saline."
—The Guardian, Nov. 30, 2008

• "He kept saying, 'Please kill me. I do not want to live,' " said Kishore C. Bhatt, 56, a hospital volunteer who was there that night. "He was on a stretcher about three to four feet away from me. He was injured. His face had no expression, but his voice sounded angry."

  1. What are you trying to prove? That all these statements are false? Get real! When a crime like this takes place the press is always tentative in its response. Not much is known, and much is speculation. Now fast forward to now- how many countries do you see that actually are supporting and even adding to India's evidence of the the peretrators of this crime?

  2. Media lies or not, an operation of this nature cannot have been carried out by anyone internally in India. Even if it was Indian Muslims they would have received training in Pakistan. End of the day it was done by a group based in Pakistan or with their help.

No one is blaming the Pakistani Government as they dont have control over the country.

Lets address the problem here by accepting the problems first.

The biggest loosers are the people of Pakistan not India. But Pakistan can kiss FDI goodbye. All visas will now become more difficult. And with a looming Indian threat of war poor Pakistani's will suffer the most as more funds will be diverted to armed forces.

  3. Except for the Pakis who live mentally "hijacked" and logically "blindfolded", the rest of the world knows that Pak is the hotbed of all terrorist activities. Pak has a direct or an indirect link to all major terrorist attacks in Afghanistan. All the crap that you have mentioned above and your mindless rants that you have penned on your website have all proven wrong. Mr.Zardari today attacked the Madrassas and the terror camps of LET and arrested their masterming. Now why would he do so if he was so confident that Pak was not involved. Wake up and face the reality and stop the BS about Pak being innocent. Trust me, it makes you look more stupid that what you really are!

You guys cannot govern your country, have no control on its people and their actions, and are living on IMF money. The militants you created have now risen against you and have become your worst nightmare. If you guys dont wake up now, you future generation would wake up a Pakistan that is broken into 5 different countries born out of civil war and hatred towards each other. Its high time that you stopped following the Mullahs and listen to your innersole.

  5. Common decency must prevail no matter how heated the matter is. Calling others names does not make your argument stronger; instead it shows its weakness.

What you call rant is the feeling of all Pakistanis. Whatever President Zardari is doing is to appease USA and no different than what India does when ordered by USA. Pakistan has made mistakes in the past but this was not one of them.

You are right about Pakistan not being strong due to internal strife but what about the strength of India where Hindus distrust Muslims and vice versa (read this article at International Herald Tribune http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/12/08/asia/AS-India-Muslim-Fears.php ).

You may blame this attack on Pakistan but what about the next one and the one after that.

I know, you will still blame Pakistan because you don’t have any other option. Blaming Indian Muslims will tear India apart and that is definitely not a desirable outcome.

  6. Indian media houses ( who are making money in the form of increased advertising revenues by increasing their viewership and who have an interest in keeping this untruthful saga --------
Firstly I don understand why you are blaming just the Indian media - when you are actually citing most news stories from western newspapers!! There are surely many discrepancies - bt that can exist on either side - so why blame the Indian media.

But Anyway thats not the bigger issue here - i don have any special love for our media>
but you talk about problems between Indian hindus and muslims bt you're missing out on one basic point here. When talking about a country as big as India with so many cultures and religions - there are bound to be disputes (sometimes triggered by some selfish politicians and sometimes by the people themselves). Think about your country first Mr. Sikander - with such a small size and a handful of population, u've disputes with the north eastern parts of pakistan (Many of who u don not even consider to be muslims or Pakistanis!!). Pakistan is begging for money from the IMF but still you guys would continue to buy weapons from China - and to target who? So if you want to draw a comparison we have held ourseleves together in a much better manner. Your country has majority muslims still tehre are issues and you are talking about a country with a population of 1.2 billion!

Besides, let me ask you a few questioons here -

    >> do u genuinelly believe that the ISI does not support the LeT?
    >> Do you think that the Pakistani government has control over its own military? (specially after kargil)
    >> The media has also revealed videos of top pakistani officials with some of the LeT members (But ofcourse you would still say that the media is fake!!)
If you ask my opinion - Mushraff was the one guy who had everything under control - no1 in the pakistani government has the balls to even praise the lal masjid incident. And till the time he was in power - thing were much more in control.

Finally, I would just like to mention that I do not have anything against the Pakistani people - some of my best friends are pakistanis - but its them who have also confirmed me these facts!!

  7. Thanks for your comments.
I would really appreciate if you give your name as well if you ever visit this site again.
It is good to hear that you have friends from Pakistan as you might have noticed by talking to them and by their general demeanour that Pakistanis are not monsters that 24/7 media coverage and statements by your politicians deem them to be.
In India, no one listens to a discredited politician on important matters until he speaks against Pakistan. 60 years of brain washing has made the general populace’s level of hatred for Pakistan and everything this country stands for to an unprecedented level.
I agree with you that western media did report stories which I have quoted in my original article but they were taken straight from the Indian channels. News ( if you can call propaganda, news) were taken up as soon as they were aired on Indian media and published and broadcasted without any verification.
Regarding our northern province, we are paying the price of a war which was waged by USA against the soviets in the 1980s. All these madrassas you hear about are the product of that Jihad, when Americans needed ready made manpower to defeat the Russian bear.
You must be aware of the pressure, Pakistan came under after the 9/11 attacks to give America bases in Pakistan and provide full cooperation. The same pressure was exerted after the Russian invasion of Afghanistan in 1978. After the war was won and soviet union defeated, nobody in the West gave a second thought about the thousands of fully trained war hardened fighters roaming Pakistan’s western borders. These people should been helped in assimilating peacefully in there respective societies (Arabs, Chinese, Europeans, North African, central Asians, Pakistanis) you name it and that nationality was represented in the Afghan Jihad.
9/11 was the consequence of the mismanagement of the end game in Afghanistan as fighters left Afghanistan with the belief that as they have beaten one super power , they can beat any others as well.
Pakistan with more Pashtoons than the whole of Afghanistan could not afford to leave Afghanistan in the grip of the civil war which was spilling into Pakistan so after 8 years of Geneva Agreement ( which resulted in the withdrawal of Russian troops from Afghanistan and the end of War) Pakistan had to intervene as there seemed no end to the turmoil. So Taliban were created to counter the war lords and end the conflict in Afghanistan.
And they achieved that quite quickly. After many years ,Afghanistan was peaceful but there were downsides to this peace as well. Afghanistan was repressed religiously and culturally and Afghans started to resent them which finally ended in their demise when US Attacked Afghanistan.
Your question about the ISI is very interesting as well.
ISI is an organisation which is given far more credit than it possibly deserves. An agency of the size of ISI is not able to do everything which India blames it for. From Rajasthan to Assam, from Punjab to Hyderabad, from Himalayas to Arabian Sea any bomb which goes off, any insurgency which spirals out of control, any Hindu Muslim riot which takes place or any thing unexplained in pinned on ISI at the drop of the hat.
Even if LeT is proved to be involved in this tragedy in Mumbai ( although there are far too many facts contradicting that) ISI has not give any help to this organisation in this case.
Pakistani state had links with these kind of groups during the Afghan Jihad for obvious purposes and then Kashmir but after 2002, state changed its course and started pushing these organisations hard. The result is the bombs in Marriott Hotel in Islamabad. Bombs everywhere, everyday, It will take us some time to stop this cancer but stop it we will.
You must also be acutely aware of the fact that as Indians don’t like Pakistani interference in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Burma etc Pakistan does not like Indian interference in Afghanistan. America cannot stay in Afghanistan forever and by supporting the occupation, India is repeating the same mistake it committed by supporting the Soviet occupation. India cannot have 15 consulates on the Pakistan border with Afghanistan and still be able to talk peace while actively promoting enemies of the Pakistani state.
Pakistan wants to live in peace, it is in Pakistan’s interest to have peace with India and disputes like Kashmir should be resolved by talks not bullets.
I hope that you wont mind my arguments as this site is to share views and have an open and honest exchange of ideas. I want to share my hopes and fears while listening to your hopes and fears.
May we all live in peace and the two countries have a relationship more like Canada and USA then like US and Russia during the cold war days.

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo

Mir Chakar Khan Rind - A Warrior Hero Of Baluchistan & Punjab Provinces of Pakistan

By Sikander Hayat The areas comprising the state of Pakistan have a rich history and are steeped in the traditions of martial kind. Tribes which are the foundation stone of Pakistan come from all ethnic groups of Pakistan either they be Sindhi, Balochi, Pathan or Punjabi. One of these men of war & honour were Mir Chakar Khan Rind. He is probably the most famous leader coming out of Baloch ethnic group of Pakistan. Mir Chakar Khan Rind or Chakar-i-Azam (1468 – 1565 ) was a Baloch king and ruler of Satghara in (Southern Pakistani Punjab) in the 15th century. He is considered a folk hero of the Baloch people and an important figure in the Baloch epic Hani and Sheh Mureed. Mir Chakar lived in Sibi in the hills of Balochistan and became the head of Rind tribe at the age of 18 after the death of his father Mir Shahak Khan. Mir Chakar's kingdom was short lived because of a civil war between the Lashari and Rind tribes of Balochistan. Mir Chakar and Mir Gwaharam Khan Lashari, hea
