Hindutva, Varun Gandhi & Idea of India

By Sikander Hayat

In the last few days elections fever is starting to grip the land of India and political parties of all colours are trying to win votes by presenting their ideologies and agendas in front of the masses. India after all claims to be the largest democracy in the world and does provide its people a right to vote after every five years.
Some parties like BJP are trying to stoke up anti Muslim sentiment in the poles and a manifestation of that was the call by Varun Gandhi to all Muslims of India to leave India and go to Pakistan. Now one can call this a one off by a young politician but it seems that India is full of these bigots who have nothing but hate on their minds. I must qualify this by saying that majority of Indians are not bigots but some are and BJP, Sangh Pariwar, Shiv Sena and countless other Hindu extremist parties have gained enough votes during the last few elections to testify that a large block of voters in India is xenophobic and cast their votes on the basis if cast, colour, creed, religion and regional affiliation.
Here are few stories that I came across and would like to share with you to give you some idea of this phenomenon and it impact on the future of India.

  1. As an Indian Muslim, I must take strong exception to your post. By comparing the ordinary Indian Hindu populace with the likes of the Narendra Modis and Varun Gandhis, you are effectively sinking to their level of fear-mongering and hate-spewing. I know a lot of Hindus. ALL of them disavow these sentiments. I also know two of them that after 26/11 said hot-headed things to me about Muslim supporters of terrorism. When I asked them if that meant I too was automatically suspect, they apologised to me with sincere shame.
Ordinary Indians, whatever their religion, only want to get by in life just like everyone else. Politicians stir up fear and hate as it is an easy way to energise a largely apathetic populace. This is not specific to India - see the US in the Bush era. See the Talibanisation of your own country. Am I to assume that you also drive around looking for westerners and foreigners to behead, like the Taliban that effectively rule many parts of your country? I am smarter than that, and hope you too will smarten up and desist from inflammatory messages like this.

  2. This site is just meant to blow any small Indian incident out of proportion and on the other hand it never speaks of some of the real Incidents happening in Pakistan.
    For eg
"Why is no terrorist Involved in Srilankan team attack still captured?"
"Why Lahore Police gave a free route for terrorists to flee the attacking zone?"

The site is meant for highlighting the issues of pakistan but it looks like u take a great pride is misrepresenting any events in India.

    when will u grow up........

  3. Sikandar please live up to your name and dont be childish in suggesting these theories. We all know in what name people of pakistan vote IF THEY ARE EVER ALLOWED TO!In India we always have elections and you should learn that any person who is nationalist is not extreme.
Anyways I thought you were a rational person but seeing more posts of yours it seems you are only busy in justifying attacks on India, you are pro-military(which got pakistan defeated so many times and killed your leaders like ZA Bhutto.) and promoting a propaganda of its-right-to-attack-india-through-islamic terror-as-we-cant-even-think-of-winning-war-from-them-by-our-forces.Please.grow up.India doesnt want a war with you.We dont want to waste our money in a country which is obsessed with Radical thinkings and we have no intention of increasing our muslim population by conquering you. When i hear your views i am so relieved that indian muslims are 10000 times better than pakistani muslims.Hoping for a peaceful pakistan-Jai Hind.

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo

Mir Chakar Khan Rind - A Warrior Hero Of Baluchistan & Punjab Provinces of Pakistan

By Sikander Hayat The areas comprising the state of Pakistan have a rich history and are steeped in the traditions of martial kind. Tribes which are the foundation stone of Pakistan come from all ethnic groups of Pakistan either they be Sindhi, Balochi, Pathan or Punjabi. One of these men of war & honour were Mir Chakar Khan Rind. He is probably the most famous leader coming out of Baloch ethnic group of Pakistan.
