Player Power Succeeds in Pakistan Cricket – Younus Khan Replaced By Muhammad Yusuf as the Captain of the Team

Player power has finally forced the hand of the Pakistan cricket board to remove Younus Khan from the captaincy of the team. The new captain is Muhammad Yusuf who has captained Pakistan previously albeit for a short period.
To me it seemed a concerted effort by some of the senior team members to remove Younus Khan and it started during the Pakistan Sri Lanka test series earlier this year which Pakistan lost badly. It was very obvious then that the main players in Pakistan team were throwing away their wickets so that there is no chance that Younus can be considered as a captain in future. To the dismay of these players which include Misbah, Yusuf and headed by Shoaib Malik; Younus was named captain for the ICC Champion’s Trophy.

So they did their best to keep Pakistan from winning that tournament and succeeded.
Pakistan cricket board should have sacked these players for good instead of removing Younus Khan which will now give players the belief that no decision can be taken without their permission.
In any case I welcome the new captain and wish him all the luck in the world because he will need it to captain a group of men which is called the Pakistan Cricket Team.

Pakistan Army Must Not Intervene In The Current Crisis - Who To Blame For the Present Crisis in Pakistan ?

By Sikander Hayat Another day of agony and despair as Pakistanis live through a period of uncertainty but still I believe that army must not intervene in this crisis. These are the kind of circumstances when army need to show their resolve of not meddling in the political sphere of the country. No doubt that there will be people in the corridors of power and beyond who will be urging the army to step in and ‘save’ the country but let me tell you that country will only be saved if army stays away and let the politicians decide the future of the country, even if it means that there will be clashes on the streets of Islamabad.
