A Somali Man Shot While Trying To Enter The House Of Muhammad Cartoonist Kurt Westergaard - How Far Right Will Take Advantage Of This Act Of Terror?

According to reports, Danish police have shot a man who was trying to enter the house of cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, who made cartoons of Prophet Muhammad. The man is injured and in custody of Danish police and his life in not in danger. The man was of Somali origin and was armed with an axe and a knife.
If this report is confirmed than it is a very bad development for the European Muslims because the far right will portray the actions of this one man as that of whole community and defame them further.
There is a need for the European Muslims to organize themselves in such a way that fellow Muslims can be educated to respect the freedom of speech. There is no doubt Muslims get hurt deeply when their religion is disrespected and this should not become a norm in the European society but at the same time, it is paramount that in a democratic society freedom of speech should be respected.
Democratic means should be used to let the fellow Europeans know of the hurt that Muslims feel when they hear bad things being said about their book, their prophet and their religion in general.
It is indefensible to attack someone for saying or writing something for what you don’t like. This man, who tried to attack the cartoonist, must be punished according to the Danish law to set an example for others who are planning
similar acts.
Islam is not in danger because of some cartoons or writings but because of the misguided idiots who have taken it upon themselves to “save” Islam. These people are endangering the future of European Muslims and their religion because of the selfish acts.

Eh? Danish law has no provision for mocking Mohd or for that matter any other prophet of other religions. So why should islam be given special privilege. Muslims living in Denmark always have a choice to go back to their dar-ul-islam where they can live in absolute reverence to Mohd.

  2. also IMO Muslims exposed themselves badly by reacting to this cartoon business. The best recourse would have been to completely ignore it. By reacting the way they did, they have provided fodder to the next set of cartoonist to make fun of islam.

  3. Hi TambiDude,

I think in your first message you made a comment which is exactly what I have said. I don't want Danish law to punish the cartoonist but the person who tried to attack the cartoonist. I think you need to revisit what I have written and read it again. Thanks for your comments.

    Yours sincerely,

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo...

Pakistan Army Must Not Intervene In The Current Crisis - Who To Blame For the Present Crisis in Pakistan ?

By Sikander Hayat Another day of agony and despair as Pakistanis live through a period of uncertainty but still I believe that army must not intervene in this crisis. These are the kind of circumstances when army need to show their resolve of not meddling in the political sphere of the country. No doubt that there will be people in the corridors of power and beyond who will be urging the army to step in and ‘save’ the country but let me tell you that country will only be saved if army stays away and let the politicians decide the future of the country, even if it means that there will be clashes on the streets of Islamabad. With free media in place, people are watching with open eyes the parts being played by each and every individual in this current saga. They know who is right and who is wrong and they will eventually decide who stays in power when the next general election comes. Who said that democracy was and orderly and pretty business ; it is anything but. Democracy ...
