I want Pakistan government to protect my identity as a Pakistani

Today my concern is more about Pakistan than anything else. I want Pakistan government to protect my identity as Pakistani if that means giving up claim on the Indian part of the Kashmir region. Pakistan foreign policy must move away from the focus on India to other important issues like spreading the word about the true Pakistan which is peace loving and want to work on a live and let live policy.

I want every constituent part of Pakistan to become a stake holder in the development of the nation.

Pakistan must not always be associated with India all the time as it weakens us as nation. We must not worry about India because of the following reasons. There are so many insurgency movements going on in India that if India put one step wrong it will be the start of such communal violence that India will not be able to survive it.

According to US government 2300 people have died in India due to terrorism related instances that is more than Afghanistan and Iraq and given the fact that there is a war going on in both these countries, these figures show the severity of the situation in Indian state.

Here is my point; Pakistan is a sovereign nation with a population of 170 million people with four federal units equally powerful in Senate with 25% voting rights for each of them. I truly believe that they must have equal rights in National Assembly as well.

But on top of all this, there must also be more emphasis on city governments. I believe that with few changes, Nazim system is the best system possible in the country like Pakistan with local issue being resolved at the local level. All city governments must have full financial autonomy to raise taxes and to spend money wherever they like.

A good judicial system at the city level and federal level must be the priority of the federal government and must be appropriated as soon as possible.

I believe that Mr Musharaf has done a lot of good for my country and biggest of his achievements is the absolute freedom of print and electronic media. No matter what arguments are made to the contrary but when the history of Pakistan will be written, his name will be the on top of the list of people who freed the media from shackles put on it by the so called democratic governments.

One criticism that can be levelled against him is for the deterioration of the situation in Balochistan but then that might even be because Gwadar and other mega projects are being built and this insurgent violence may be the last throw of dice before Gwadar becomes a fully functional city with growing population and issue of Balochistan becomes extinct not because Baloch people will be subjugated but because Balochistan will become prosperous and its people will learn to live without the tyranny of the Sardars who want to keep the people illiterate for their own self preservation.

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo
