Miss Universe Visits Guantanamo: 'A Loooot Of Fun!'

Huffington Post | Stuart Whatley | March 30, 2009 05:05 PM

The current 'Miss Universe' Dayana Mendoza (formerly Miss Venezuela) and 'Miss America' Crystal Stewart visited US troops stationed in Guantanamo Bay on March 20th, the New York Times reports. Here's Mendoza's account of the visit from her pageant blog last Friday. She says the trip "was a loooot of fun!"

This week, Guantánamo!!! It was an incredible experience...All the guys from the Army were amazing with us. We visited the Detainees camps and we saw the jails, where they shower, how the recreate themselves with movies, classes of art, books. It was very interesting. We took a ride with the Marines around the land to see the division of Gitmo and Cuba while they were informed us with a little bit of history.

  1. Hello,

Thank you for your comment at my blog. It is quite hypocritical for anybody to criticize Israel for defending itself, especially when these people were silent for 8 years when over 10 000 rockets fell on the residents of Israel's south. Egypt is hardly a friend of Israel. Its media is one of the most virulently anti-semitic in the world, and it has allowed its borders to be used by Hamas to bring in weapons. Israel cannot concern itself with what the international body says as these countries would like to see Israel wiped out. Israel must stand up for her safety and that of the Jewish people.

  2. Thank you for visiting my humble blog. Yours is a huge creature! Well done. I agree with you about Israel. People tend to forget that the home made rockets from Hamas, as wrong as they might be, are sort of, "oops someone clean up this mess. It made a crack in my driveway!" variety. There is a huge difference between these and huge nasty cluster bombs, white phosphorus and DIME and DU.

The young man above seems to have absorbed the Israeli stance of paranoia, considering that its military is 4th in the world and these other countries have almost nothing to compare.

He does not understand that his country has never stopped abusing and stealing from the Palestinians in the ghastliest of manners and has no intention of stopping. I could pull out a lot of quotes by famous ex-terrorist/leaders of his country to back my words, but I have a feeling it would be as shouting into the breeze.

The educational system in Israel, as I was reading yesterday, has effectively changed the local history so that current graduates have no idea of the history of this land.

As you may have noted when you were at my blog today, I had a large passage in red. I only do RED if it is something of the utmost importance. I think I have done that only 2 or 3 times since beginning to blog a few years ago. IRAN does not have the capabilities of nuclear power for war. They will not have it until 2015 or so, should the planet last this long.

The real goal is oil. The leader of Iran does utter inflammatory statements, but he cannot back them up with nuclear arms. Israel and the US have been pushing for war with Iran for years. Hollywood is in the process of making about 30 movies to serve as anti-Persian propaganda. They know they cannot shove Iranians under the Arab banner so they are branching out. Meanwhile, these young men still buy into the myth of Israel's need to defend herself by creating more wars.

As for the young ladies above. LONG LIVE THE DUMBING DOWN OF CIVILIZATION! I am sorry but these girls should be forced to wear the orange suits. I am sure that would be painful enough for them! It is most decadent that something as serious as Guantanamo is reduced to a backdrop for a semi literate bimbo.

  3. Barbara L,

I assume that when 10 000 rockets rain down on your home, you will dismiss them as "home-made". Hamas rockets have killed tens of Israelis, destroyed the economy of Sderot, caused thousands of dollars of damages and caused severe psychological damage to the residents of the Israeli south, especially the children.

"The educational system in Israel, as I was reading yesterday, has effectively changed the local history so that current graduates have no idea of the history of this land."

The Jews are the original inhabitants and owners of Israel. There was never an independent Palestinian state. There is no Palestinian people. It is an artificial entity created 40 years ago. There is no distinct "Palestinian" culture, religion, language or nation. Israel belongs to the Jewish people by every conceivable religious, historic and political right. Please pick up a history book before saying nonsense.

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo

Pakistan Army Must Not Intervene In The Current Crisis - Who To Blame For the Present Crisis in Pakistan ?

By Sikander Hayat Another day of agony and despair as Pakistanis live through a period of uncertainty but still I believe that army must not intervene in this crisis. These are the kind of circumstances when army need to show their resolve of not meddling in the political sphere of the country. No doubt that there will be people in the corridors of power and beyond who will be urging the army to step in and ‘save’ the country but let me tell you that country will only be saved if army stays away and let the politicians decide the future of the country, even if it means that there will be clashes on the streets of Islamabad. With free media in place, people are watching with open eyes the parts being played by each and every individual in this current saga. They know who is right and who is wrong and they will eventually decide who stays in power when the next general election comes. Who said that democracy was and orderly and pretty business ; it is anything but. Democracy
