India’s Anti Pakistan & Pro Al-Qaida Activities in Afghanistan & Balochistan

By Sikander Hayat

It is not a surprise to hear that India (RAW) is behind the current unrest in Pakistan but hearing it now on an international stage from a respected journalist is another story. Christine Fair in this month’s edition of Foreign Affairs says very clearly that India is hell bent on destabilising Pakistan by providing massive amount of funds, weapons and satellite imagery to Taliban in FATA, Balochistan and other parts of the country and a great effort is being put in by the Indian consulates in Afghanistan to this end.
When commenting on Pakistan’s concern about India Christine says “I think it would be a mistake to completely disregard Pakistan's regional perceptions due to doubts about Indian competence in executing covert operations. That misses the point entirely. And I think it is unfair to dismiss the notion that Pakistan's
apprehensions about Afghanistan stem in part from its security competition with India. Having visited the Indian mission in Zahedan, Iran, I can assure you they are not issuing visas as the main activity! Moreover, India has run operations from its mission in Mazar (through which it supported the Northern Alliance) and is likely doing so from the other consulates it has reopened in Jalalabad and Qandahar along the border. Indian officials have told me privately that they are pumping money into Baluchistan. Kabul has encouraged India to engage in provocative activities such as using the Border Roads Organization to build sensitive parts of the Ring Road and use the Indo-Tibetan police force for security. Kabul's motivations for encouraging these activities are as obvious as India's interest in engaging in them.”

In the light of this and many other testimonies, it can be said without doubt that India is jeopardizing American efforts in Afghanistan by destabilising Pakistan through Afghanistan because Pakistan will take steps to keep itself safe from the Indian menace and that in turn will make the war longer for the Americans. American must understand that without keeping India out of Afghanistan, there will be no solution to insurgency problem as the people like Hekmatyar and Jalal-ud-Haqqani will support Pakistan in rooting out the Indian influence as they did after the Soviets left Afghanistan.

  1. A tragicomic post! You obviously didn't read the article "what's wrong with Pakistan well".A suggestion- revisit the piece to delve into what's actually being spoken. But then again,it may be difficult for someone like you who's probably made a habit of sieving matter to suit your purposes.....how comfortably you skip ...." ...It is also building schools on a sensitive part of the border in Kunar--across from Bajaur" to jump to the next line.....& how you refuse to present it contextually. No wonder Pakistan is in the state it is.It's sad.Sad for humanity everywhere. Some people refusing to see things as they are even though everything is right in their faces.Best of luck for the bubble you choose to live in!

  2. .....& how comfortably you bypass Ashley Tellis' retort to that what you quote: "I am not sure I buy Christine's analysis of Indian activities in Pakistan's west: this is a subject I followed very closely when I was in government, and suffice it to say, there is less there than meets the eye. That was certainly true for Afghanistan.Convincing Pakistanis of this, however, is a different story.".....& then Christine Fair who responds with ...."I am not trying to blow Indian activities in the region out of proportion, rather stressing the need to not dismiss the importance of Pakistani perceptions of those activities simply because one thinks they are exaggerated. These activities matter to some in the Pakistani elite and to a broader public that is fed a steady stream of information about them." ......GOD HELP SOUTH ASIA with folks like Sikander Hayat (& they unfortunately are growing in numbers alarmingly).I hope the opposite is also true.... i.e folks with a vision for South Asia also growing in equal numbers.A region in the world with tremendous potential & a beautiful future if they were to just get out of their rut.Bhaijaan, your own land & the region at large would see peace&prosperity if you were to channelise those energies you have in creating a solution (..instead of spending in raking up the conflict where ACTUALLY none exists).Best wishes from your well wishers in India.I pray you'd come out of your bubble.

  4. Pakistan's involvement in trouble in India and Afghanistan is clear for anyone to see. On the other hand all those accusations about the involvement of India and other nations have never been proved and the involvement is small if it exists at all.

Pakistan is a extremely unequal country where the army has an undeserved privileged position. Pakistan's elite is doing what any elite in a similar position does: creating external enemies. They will do anything to prevent that their population starts to ask why the army needs so much privileges and Pakistan has more powerful landlords than almost any other country.

  5. India is involved in terrorism in Baluchistan to destabilise CPEC. The main aim is to not let Pakistan become economically successful which as per Wall Street Journal's recent article https://www.wsj.com/articles/pakistans-middle-class-soars-as-stability-returns-1485945001?tesla=y is truly happening in Pakistan.

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo

Mir Chakar Khan Rind - A Warrior Hero Of Baluchistan & Punjab Provinces of Pakistan

By Sikander Hayat The areas comprising the state of Pakistan have a rich history and are steeped in the traditions of martial kind. One of these men of war & honour were Mir Chakar Khan Rind. He is probably the most famous leader coming out of Baloch ethnic group of Pakistan. Mir Chakar Khan Rind or Chakar-i-Azam (1468 – 1565 ) was a Baloch king and ruler of Satghara in (Southern Pakistani Punjab) in the 15th century. Mir Chakar's kingdom was short lived because of a civil war between the Lashari and Rind tribes of Balochistan. Mir Chakar and Mir Gwaharam Khan Lashari, hea
