Is Kamran Akmal Involved In Match Fixing Or Is He Really The Worst Pakistani Wicket Keeper Ever?

By Sikander Hayat

No matter how good Kamran Akmal is in batting, his performance with the gloves is nothing but abysmal. He single headedly cost a test series in Australia by dropping half a dozen catches in Sydney and now in Nottingham he has done the same. I believe he needs to be rested and someone one else be given a chance. Kamran can still play one dayers/20 20s but he is not a good enough wicketkeeper to play in the test cricket in his current form. On top of that there are consistent rumours about his involvement with the match fixing and other disciplinary issues. It is time to reassess his contribution to Pakistan cricket team and if found wanting than dropped from the team immediately.

  1. Pakistan has just suffered its second worst ever defeat in its test cricket history and along with the desperately bad batting, Kamran Akmal played a lions share in this defeat by dropping catches upon catches. If there was ever a single man responsible for a team's defeat. This is it.Kamran Akmal has to go and has to go now. He is good for one dayers and 20 20 cricket but not the test cricket.

  2. Today, Pakistan cricket team will play their second test match against England. Pakistan will have to play 200% better than what they did at Trent Bridge (Nottingham) to have any chance of competing in this match. According to the reports, Kamran Akmal & Danish Kaneria are not playing in this one. I don't know about Kaneria but definitely Kamran Akmal is not good for test cricket. Lets see what happens this time.

  3. Birmingham Cricket Test Day 1:

Oh no, Pakistan played as they though they do not know how to bat. I am sure that this Birmingham test match is going the same way as the Trent bridge. Sad. Very sad state of affairs with the Pakistan cricket.

  4. Birmingham Cricket Test Day 3:

Hopefully after the way Zulkarnain Haider has played in this second innings, Kamran Akmal will be out for good from the test team. Zulkarnain has shown some fighting spirit in this innings and his staying power on the wicket cannot be bad for future of Pakistan cricket.

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo...

Pakistan Army Must Not Intervene In The Current Crisis - Who To Blame For the Present Crisis in Pakistan ?

By Sikander Hayat Another day of agony and despair as Pakistanis live through a period of uncertainty but still I believe that army must not intervene in this crisis. These are the kind of circumstances when army need to show their resolve of not meddling in the political sphere of the country. No doubt that there will be people in the corridors of power and beyond who will be urging the army to step in and ‘save’ the country but let me tell you that country will only be saved if army stays away and let the politicians decide the future of the country, even if it means that there will be clashes on the streets of Islamabad. With free media in place, people are watching with open eyes the parts being played by each and every individual in this current saga. They know who is right and who is wrong and they will eventually decide who stays in power when the next general election comes. Who said that democracy was and orderly and pretty business ; it is anything but. Democracy ...
