    We speak the same language, we eat the same food, we see the same films,. we share the same culture...but we have different religions.... Indians and Pakistanis are a part of each other as they were always.
    Indians and Pakistanis must forget the past and see into the future. So much victims for nothing. I am praying for the day that those two countries will become united again under a new federal state. Jai Hind India and Pakistan Zindabad but as friends or better like brothers

    This is exactly what Pakistanis hate about Indian expansionism. Besides, India is having trouble in holding on to the only Muslim majority state it has, it will be impossible for it to gobble up Pakistan.

    Kashmir is a very trivial issue for India. We in India only see what the government and the media portrays to us. The truth is, we do not know what the ground situation is!

    To your point Sikandar, that since Kashmir is the only muslim majority state in India, India is having trouble holding onto it could be unfounded. The reason I am saying is not because I am a proud Indian, but I know how bad the politics are here in India.

    I would say it is the lack of opportunities for Kashmiri youth which is driving them to do these things. It is a vicious circle of suspicion and hatred. Whenever as Kashmiri youth comes down to Delhi or other parts of the country there is always a negative hostility from the so called 'mainstream'. And I agree this is our fault!!

    But somewhere down the line this hostility has a deep rooted negative feeling, not about the Kashmiri youth, but Muslim community. The things that have happened in the past (the bombings, terror attacks) have made every other non-muslim wary of Muslims. On the counter-argument the Gujrat Riots 2002 made us hate the Goverment of Gujrat and its chief minister Modi. Ditto for 1984 anti-sikh riots.

    So, the point now is you would have your arguments, which I can counter argue(and will be valid). And I will have my arguments which you would counter argue(and will be valid). So how do we move from here??

    The answer is fruitful talks and not just confidence building measures!! We at our end need to change our mindset towards Kashmiris and understand their problem rather then just brush them aside. And the Muslims needs to do something to change the image which has formed of it due to a handful of terrorists!

    Thanks for your comments. Your logic makes sense and it is good hear someone talk sanity. Meaningful talks are the only way forward. All sides must respect other side's views and find an amicable solution to Kashmir. But these talks must not be for the sake of talks but lead to some time bound conclusions.

    dear, sikander in INDIA 27 crore muslim lives and in PAKISTAN it is about 25 crore. I wanna say that we just think about development of INDIA AND PAKISTAN not about who will get kashmir.

    DEAR SIKANDER, I m proud to be an INDIAN and you proud to be aPAKISTANI. 27 CRORE muslim live in INDIA and about 25 crore muslim in PAKISTAN. PAKISTAN is totally a muslim country but INDIA is neither a hindu nor muslim nor other. INDIA is a mixture of diff. culters. I like my side u like ur. I just say that we just have to look toward both countrirs developement. It could not be possible without shaking. you should come to INDIA and i should visit PAKISTAN. This is the real solution. HITESH HARYANA

    Thanks for your comment on this blog. I agree with your sentiment in broader terms but there are issues of cultural affinity which we need to look at. Pakistanis look at Kashmir not only as a Muslim issue but more so in terms of a territory which was their's and was given by Hari Singh to India. Pakistan has never claimed any sovereignty on Hyderabad ( which decided to join Pakistan but was captured by India) because there is no geographical or cultural link between that state and Pakistan. Just being run by a Muslim Nizam and a large Muslim population does not qualify Hyderabad to be claimed by Pakistan. Most of India's Muslims have no cultural affinity with Pakistan. Kashmir is a totally different issue.
    But after saying that, I must also add here that if Kashmiris want to stay with India than that is their right. Pakistan cannot change the will of Kashmiris but for that India will have to ask the Kashmiris themselves.

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . By Sikander Hayat Another day of agony and despair as Pakistanis live through a period of uncertainty but still I believe that army must not intervene in this crisis. These are the kind of circumstances when army need to show their resolve of not meddling in the political sphere of the country.
