Application For Pakistani Visa At Gerry’s Visa Services in Bradford - My Experience

By Sikander Hayat

I wanted to share an experience with you guys. I needed to apply for a Pakistani visa and went online to see what the process was to get the visa. My search took me to the website of the Pakistan high commissioner in London. This website stated that Pakistan High Commission in London and other high commissions have stopped processing visa applications and that all applications are now dealt though Gerry’s Visa Services. I went on this website and it gave the addresses of different offices in United Kingdom. I chose the Bradford office, which I thought was the easiest one to get to 80 miles but still nearer than anything else.

I got my docs ready, signed & dated everything and left home at 6:00 am to get there on time for 9:00 am as same day visa service is provided between 9:00 am and 11:00 am. I got there right on time at 9:00 and after spending some time in looking for parking, I went in. There was only two more people in the office as customers. There were three members of staff. One at the gate to issue tokens, another at the reception to check documents and the third one to actually process the application. There was also a counter for making fee payments but I never got that far.

I was seen immediately by the reception and the first question she asked was “Where are from in UK?”. After hearing my reply, I was told that Bradford office does not cover my area and I need to go to Birmingham office for my visa application to be processed.

I told them that there is nothing on their website to suggest that what areas are covered by each of the respective Gerry’s offices. They apologised but that was of no use to me as my whole day was wasted. I gave them this suggestion to put this very important information on their website as it is not fair to their customers to travel hours and hours and not have their applications processed.

That was that and I left and got home after hours of travelling. Tomorrow, i am going to try my luck at the Birmingham office of Gerry’s visa services and hopefully will have a better result.

  1. Following on from the above post about my experience at the Gerry's Visa Service for Pakistan visa at the Bradford office, today, I went to to the Gerry's Birmingham office. I got there at 9:00 am and was finished by ten. I had the option to collect the passport at 6:00 pm but I opted to give them pre paid next day delivery envelope. They told me that it will be posted tomorrow and should be with me Saturday. I am really counting on this and hopefully it will all go well. I'll keep you guys posted with the outcome.

    1. Today I went to Gerry's Birmingham office myself. It took about 5 minutes and I got the passport back with Pakistani visa stamp. All in all, a good experience after the disappointment at Bradford office. Passport collection time was between 2 pm & 5 pm.

  5. Terrible service, my son rang their helpline and was told to visit the nearest centre to where we live, in this case Bradford. He was turned away because although Bradford covers Newcastle and Middlesbrough it doesn't cover Durham where we live although it is between the two. The PHC need to get these incompetents in line, Bradford couldn't say where to go but it might be Birmingham or maybe Stratford!

  6. Kuwait has confirmed today that it has not banned visas for Pakistani passport holders. This was a fake news circulated on social media especially Facebook. Pakistanis can apply for Kuwait visa and can get it depending on usual set of requirements.

  7. Pakistanis living in United States 🇺🇸 are cancelling their tickets to Pakistan because of the fear that they may not be able to allowed back in. The fear stems from Muslim visa ban on seven countries which Pakistan 🇵🇰 origin people think can be extended to include their country. According to some estimates there have been 95% cancellations.

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo
