Is Pakistan The Worst Fielding Side Ever In History Of Cricket?

By Sikander Hayat

Is this the worst Pakistan fielding team ever representing Pakistan in a cricket world cupPakistan dropped six catches against west indies and three against India. Anyone who expect that a team can win a cricket match after affectively giving two goes to any team is living in fools paradise.
Old cliché that catches win matches is true and Pakistan need to start catching soon. If I am brutally honest, I do not want this team to qualify for quarter finals as that will be the false reflection of the performance of some of the players in this Pakistan side.
For me although batting failure is one issue but fielding is the biggest issue at this point and if Pakistan had took all their catches, West Indies could have been bold out for 180. This would have turned the match on its head and Pakistan could have won easily. Some of the players in this team are so unfit that calling them athletes is a travesty.
If you are a professional cricketer playing for Pakistan, you should put utmost effort in gym and achieve a level which help you to achieve good catching and ground fielding. People like Nasir
Jamshed who are overweight and unfit should not be selected. Specialist keeper should be in the team as Umer Akmal is dropping on average two to three catches every match.
In the end I believe that there has been
a big problem with Pakistan's one day side for a long time. Pakistan is doing very well in test cricket and not too bad in twenty 20 but one day cricket is a big problem. I hope that things improve soon but now events are not in the control of Pakistan cricket team.
They have to win every game and hope that
Ireland will lose against one of the minnows. Anything short of that will be an early exit which would be a shame in a format which is made for big teams to progress effortlessly to the quarter finals.

Pakistan missed a trick by not selecting Fawad Alam as Fawad could have provided few overs, plus he is a good fielder and an excellent batsman.
I do hope that there is no bias against Karachi players in the Pakistan Cricket Board as many of excellent players have been left out while mediocre players like Akmal brothers have been selected on numerous occasions.
Pakistan board needs to get the balance right and give preference to talent rather than personal likes and dislikes.

  1. Pakistan has once again proved in Australia that their fielding is the worst in world cricket. They lost Test matches and limited over matches because of the worst fielding performance cricketing world has ever witnessed. The fitness levels are atrocious to say the least and on top of that these guys have no clue how to catch a cricket ball. Once you drop a catch, there is no reason for you to win the match. Pakistan Super League (PSL) will prove to be good distraction from what Pakistan cricket team has done in Australia and may be over time the fast pace of T20 cricket in PSL will help to improve Pakistan's catching ability. Unless Pakistani cricketer learn how to catch a ball, they have no chance of becoming a consistent cricket team.

  2. Pakistan Super League (PSL) is starting today in United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪. PSL was a roaring success last year which fact which puts even more pressure on the players and the organisers this time around.
Last year Islamabad United won the tournament under Misbah's captaincy. This year may also be Misbah's last in the PSL.
This tournament will bring best t20 talent from around the cricket world to showcase their skills. Let's see who wins the tournament this year.

  3. First match of PSL is underway now. Islamabad United are on 41 for 1 after 5.4 overs. It looks like Peshawar Zalmi are going to win as 148 runs are required on 84 balls.

  4. Islamabad United have beaten Peshawar Zalmi comprehensively in the first match of the PSL in which the fielding effort by Peshawar Zalmi was atrocious. They dropped number of catches which lead eventually to losing the match in the final over.
There was capacity crowd in the ground to watch the first match and they thoroughly enjoyed the whole affair. The only problem was that due to opening ceremony, match lasted well into the night.
Anyway first points to Islamabad United and let's see if we can see the final in Lahore or not.

  5. Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif have been suspended from PSL pending further investigations on their alleged meeting with bookmakers in Dubai.
Nothing has been proven yet and investigators will try to find out the nature of contact.
PSL in its second year has faced this major hurdle right at the start of the tournament and Pakistan cricket board has said that if any misdeed is proven, harsh action will be taken against both players.

  6. Peshawar Zalmi have beaten Karachi Kings easily in second of the two matches in United Arab Emirates with Eoin Morgan playing a great innings in a run chase which faltered at the start but with Morgan in sublime form, target was easily achieved in the end.

  7. Karachi Kings have scored 159 in their innings against Quetta Gladiators.
In theory, this should not be a hard target for Quetta with their excellent batting lineup. Sarfraz Ahmed is a good captain for Quetta Gladiator and with resources at his disposal, should win this one. So far Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been a great success and most matches have been very close affairs. Looking forward to Final in Lahore already. Too early I know but if the Final is in Lahore, it will be sold out.

  8. So I can safely say that we can say goodbye to PSL final in Lahore with the bomb explosion which has just happened. No foreign player will be willing to travel to Lahore in this situation. With Raheel Sharif gone, law and order situation has once again started to deteriorate.
So much for good governance by Nawaz Sharif government.
UAE is the best place for the PSL final until there is absolute calm in Pakistan.

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo...

Pakistan Army Must Not Intervene In The Current Crisis - Who To Blame For the Present Crisis in Pakistan ?

By Sikander Hayat Another day of agony and despair as Pakistanis live through a period of uncertainty but still I believe that army must not intervene in this crisis. These are the kind of circumstances when army need to show their resolve of not meddling in the political sphere of the country. No doubt that there will be people in the corridors of power and beyond who will be urging the army to step in and ‘save’ the country but let me tell you that country will only be saved if army stays away and let the politicians decide the future of the country, even if it means that there will be clashes on the streets of Islamabad. With free media in place, people are watching with open eyes the parts being played by each and every individual in this current saga. They know who is right and who is wrong and they will eventually decide who stays in power when the next general election comes. Who said that democracy was and orderly and pretty business ; it is anything but. Democracy ...
